Shorlty after closing tree sales for the night the RIT Assignment was struck out for Lansdowne Borough in the area of Stratford & Lansdowne for a reported house fire. Shortly after 1pm the box assignment was struck out for 1600 Clifton Ave, Darby Township for a reported dwelling fire. This afternoon while crews were enjoying the nice afternoon weather the Full assignment was struck out for a reported Gas Leak in Glenolden. The incident reported in the 300 block of S Chester Pike brought up Companies 05 (Glenolden), 09 (Sharon Hill), and 01 (Folcroft) as well as EMS units. Early in the morning around 4:30am Engine 09-2 was dispatched to relocate to Station 71 (Chester Heights) for a cover up. Engine 9-2 with 7 from the overnight crew quickly marked up leaving an additional crew back at the station to staff an additional Engine. This afternoon crews were alerted for a reported CO Alarm activation on Garvin Blvd, Sharon Hill. On the ticket was Company 9 and Mercy EMS units. Engine 9-2 and 9-1 quickly made the response along with Chief 9 (Benecke). Around 5:30am the First Due Box assignment was rung out for 122 Reese St, Sharon Hill for a reported Dwelling fire with Entrapment. Just after 3am the Box Assignment with Entrapment was struck out for 217 Lincoln Ave, Collingdale. The ticket brought up Companies 06, 42, RIT-44, 09, 04, 75, and EMS units. Fireboard immediatly advised they were recieving numerous calls on the fire and reports of people trapped. After the annual 4th of July Parade Company 9 hosted the first Fourth of July Big Three BBQ which consisted of Companies 09 (Sharon Hill), 05 (Glenolden), and 01 (Folcroft). Just after 2am the Assignment was rung out for an Engine to assist Medic06-7 with a cardiac arrest. Engine9-1 made the response with 5 in just 10 seconds after dispatch. Today Crews headed over to St Georges Elementery School to perform some fire prevention for several classes. Crews were asked by one of the Teachers who is also a long time member of Engine Co. 9. Crews helped with providing formal interviews for the students to learn about some of our firefighters. Shortly after 7pm Engine 9-2 assisted Lansdowne Fire Co with welcoming home LCPL Logan Innes, USMC. He was flown into Philadelphia International Airport and was given an escrot from the airport to a residence on Drexel Ave in Lansdowne Borough. As usual on Halloween Night Engine Co 9 held a candy check for town residents and also gave out candy to visitors. Crews checked well over 150 bags of candy for broken wrappers, damaged candy, suspicious looking candy, or anything that could pose a danger to children. Crews also checked the candy with a Metal Detector just in case. Any candy that was taken from the kids were replaced with new candy purchased by funds generated by the Sharon Hill Fire [...]

Earlier in the day several members of the Fire Company voluntarily headed over to the location of the bonfire to assist in setup and preparing the field and pile of wood. The Big Three Fire Companies

The Phrase "The Big Three" refers to the Glenolden (05), Folcroft (01), and Sharon Hill (09) Fire Companies. All Three Companies work together to train and respond to emergencies together as a collective professional department despite being three seperate organizations.
